Moisture test before warranty
Manufacturer warranties on glue-down floors require moisture test results below threshold. Confirm the installer tests and documents.
Substrate prep is the cost
Self-levelling, patching, and grinding can double a flooring quote. Walk the slab with the installer before pricing.
Match the adhesive to the manufacturer
Off-spec adhesive voids most warranties. Confirm the installer is using manufacturer-approved adhesive.
Sequence late — paint, ceilings, trim done
Flooring goes in after most trades close out. Coordinate the sequence so the floor isn't trafficked by other crews.
