About this project type
Restaurant buildouts are one of the most multi-disciplinary commercial scopes — plumbing, gas, HVAC, electrical, drywall, painting, flooring, all working off a sequenced critical path with a pre-open date that can't slip. Most Calgary restaurant TI happens on 17th Ave, Marda Loop, Inglewood, Kensington, and increasingly in the Beltline and suburban centres.
Syndex sends your request to reviewed commercial members only. Ask the ones who reply for their recent restaurant work.

Four things GCs verify before signing.
Hood & makeup air sequencing
The hood and makeup air system is the technical heart of the project. Sizing, install timing, and AHJ inspection drive the schedule.
Gas fitter coordination
B-class or A-class gas fitter coordination is required for kitchen gas piping. Confirm cert and scheduling before crewing.
AHJ + health inspector layers
Restaurant inspections involve city building, health, and fire. Crews experienced with restaurants know the inspection cadence and coordination.
Pre-open date drives sequence
Restaurant openings are marketing events. Schedule slippage costs revenue. Confirm crew's track record on pre-open delivery.

Frequently asked
Restaurant TI on Syndex — common questions.
- What should I ask an HVAC sub about kitchen hoods?
- Ask for a recent commercial kitchen with a hood and makeup air, and who handled the fire suppression tie-in. Put hood work in the request so crews who do not do it do not say yes.
- Do Syndex plumbers handle grease interceptor install?
- Most commercial plumbing crews do. Confirm sizing and city sewer coordination on the call.
- Can I post a multi-trade restaurant scope on Syndex?
- Each post targets one trade. For multi-trade restaurant TI, post per trade and coordinate across responders.
- Does Syndex cover hospitality beyond restaurants?
- Yes — cafe, brewery, bar, and other hospitality buildouts. Specify in the post.
